&lt;div&gt;42 minutes &amp;amp; 15 seconds. That&amp;#8217;s how long 100 pushups took me but I feel like it&amp;#8217;s a good benchmark to work from (towards &lt;a href="http://www.crossfit.com/mt-archive2/000881.html" title="HQ" target="_blank"&gt;Murph&lt;/a&gt; specifically,) and one of the few I could go hard one without working my legs. It&amp;#8217;s not that I&amp;#8217;m just trying to puss out of leg training because of the hurt, but I&amp;#8217;m scheduled to drop-in on the &lt;a href="http://crossfithh.wordpress.com/" title="CrossFit HH" target="_blank"&gt;local box&lt;/a&gt; later this week and I&amp;#8217;d like to have my full faculties then. So, leg rest it is.&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#8217;m holding back on a long exposition about the workout because it would honestly be a lot of back-patting. I pushed through the &amp;#8220;maybe I&amp;#8217;ll just do 50 because I&amp;#8217;m back at the beginning&amp;#8221; thoughts. I tried not to rest any more than I had to. I even tried to keep going *just* until total failure so that I could recover for more pushups.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Yes, that&amp;#8217;s a really long time for 100 pushups, relatively speaking.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;But god-dammit, it&amp;#8217;s a start.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;My legs continued to be totally fucked.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I actually tried to hit a treadmill for the start of my warm up, but shit going on in my left quad/knee complex wasn&amp;#8217;t gonna have it. The hotel gym has a water rower, and while it&amp;#8217;s foot-holds are too janky to really bother with past 500m I was surprised that my legs were pretty okay with the movement.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;For the WoD, I screwed up from memory and ended up doing &lt;a href="http://www.crossfit.com/mt-archive2/008533.html" title="HQ" target="_blank"&gt;an HQ WoD&lt;/a&gt; backwards. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;And no, I haven&amp;#8217;t stumbled upon a mythical hotel gym with real free weights. But this one at least has some dumbbell racks, though it only goes up to 18kg. The point is, it was another day of seeing an opportunity to slack off and make excuses for why I couldn&amp;#8217;t train&amp;#8212; or at least not train hard&amp;#8212; but got shit done instead.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Still aggravated that my legs are keeping me out of cardio/conditioning though.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I mean, I&amp;#8217;ve been sore before. Especially after trying to start my training back up at full speed. But this day, Saturday, I was almost immobilized. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I really don&amp;#8217;t like to sound like I&amp;#8217;m using the excuse of &amp;#8220;I&amp;#8217;m too sore&amp;#8221; but the ache in my left quad was (and still sort of is) bordering on a muscle strain. &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;What I really did wrong was let it fuck up everything about my day as far as this project goes. Sugar detox: FAIL  &lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Eventually I got fed up, and I needed to find some not-gross food, so I hobbled my ass down the road to the grocery store. No, I&amp;#8217;m not super proud to call that my active rest for the day, but &lt;a href="http://germanforpaincave.wordpress.com/2012/08/09/reclamation-day/" title="What's German for 'Pain Cave'?" target="_blank"&gt;I&amp;#8217;ve committed to doing something every day&lt;/a&gt; and this was better than that laying in bed I felt like doing all night.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I have a few very close friends who have already spawned offspring in the last few years. And honest to God, the following statement does not apply to them in any way, nor any seeds I may or may not show in the future:&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;As tore-up and sore as my legs (quads especially) have been after &lt;a href="http://thelookplays.tumblr.com/post/29282410111/training-log-9-august-evening-workout" target="_blank"&gt;Thursday&lt;/a&gt;, I felt okay once I get started moving in the gym. I felt good repping out the squats for I-Fran once I got moving, but I would pay for it later.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Push ups were kind of an issue when I was rolling deep with my training a year ago, and they&amp;#8217;re one hell of an issue now. I&amp;#8217;m hoping to put together a program to specifically target the muscles for that movement, because I&amp;#8217;m going to need them once I lighten up. That said, this day was a win because I did every-damn-push up-assigned. I feel really, really good about that.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;em&gt;Are we gonna talk about the &amp;#8216;hating kids&amp;#8217; thing or was that just&amp;#8230;..&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Right. My bad. &lt;/strong&gt;I hate kids because one of the few times in my life that I really feel angry is if my workout gets blown or interrupted in the middle of it. But I did make it through a Day One of no sugar, and while I didn’t double up the training I did hit it hard in the evening. Couldn’t have asked for much more. I’m frankly proud of myself; which is a feeling I’ve missed a lot more than the soreness and funny walks.&lt;/p&gt;
